Boise's Novel Orchard

Submission Guidelines

Boise's Novel Orchard accepts written submissions of all genres (all fiction genres, poetry, essays, etc) and art for consideration of publication in our quarterly publication. Each publication has a theme that is announced approximately six months prior to the publication deadline. Submissions that do not adhere to an upcoming theme will not be considered.

Prose should be submitted typed, double spaced, and paginated. Poetry should be submitted in a format as it is intended to be printed. Art submissions will only be considered if submitted by email. One (1) prose, three (3) poems, or three (3) works of art will be considered per submitter per publication. All submissions should use the same font, size, and style throughout the submission. The exception to this is formatting which is intended for printing (italics or bold for emphasis, for example). Our typesetters are good at what they do. Please leave the formatting of your manuscript to them. Simultaneous submissions are considered. If you are submitting your work simultaneously, please indicate so in your cover letter and inform us immediately if it is accepted elsewhere.

Boise's Novel Orchard is a local and regional group, and we will consider authors currently residing in any state or province contiguous to the state of Idaho (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia).

Email submissions should be sent to submission @boisenovelorchard.org with a cover letter as the text of the email. All email submissions must be sent as a plain text email with submission attached as Rich Text File with the file extension .rtf. The subject line should read: (THEME OF PUBLICATION) OPEN SUBMISSION - (ART, FICTION, NON-FICTION, POETRY).

Physical submission should be sent to 1116 S. Vista Ave #125 Boise, ID 83705 with a cover letter. Please send five (5) copies of your submission. Include a SASE with sufficient postage if you would like your submission returned, and indicate so in your cover letter. All unreturned manuscripts will be shredded. Please be sure your cover letter contains your email address, or you enclose a SASE with first class postage so that we can contact you regarding your submission. If your submission is selected for publication, you will need to provide a Rich Text File (.rtf) copy of your manuscript.

Boise's Novel Orchard will determine final content of publication and notify contributors a month before the release date. Please do not email or write asking about your submission.

Please email submission @boisenovelorchard.org with further questions regarding open submissions.
